Rosacea / flushing / facial redness treatment report from: Gillian Would they recommend this: Yes TreatmentType: Other, view reports of all Other treatments Details: Please ignore the "performed by section". I have not been to a doctor or nurse. It's just me dealing with it. I think my rosacea must be inherited - my mother has it as does my sister. Mine appeared almost to the day of my 40th birthday (2002). My mother and sister have both gone to the doctors in the past and been prescribed oxytetracyclin which seems to clear it for a while but then it comes back with avengence. My sister now uses a gel. I wanted as natural a remedy as possible. I wear no make-up as I believe that aggravates the skin but I use Weleda's Almond Moisturiser which is very gentle. When I do get a flare-up (generally a week before my period) and put Tisserand's lavender gel on the offending area which seems to calm everything down. I have just started to replace this "emergency flare-up remedy" with Avalon Organics lavender face serum which seems to have more natural ingredients in it. Early days yet though but I really can recommend lavender and I'm sure it's genetic. Good luck to anyone out there who can keep off the drugs and stick with the natural remedies.
