Rosacea / flushing / facial redness treatment report from: Richard

Would they recommend this: Yes

TreatmentType: Photofacial, view reports of all Photofacial treatments

Details: I have had a total of 5 treatments. 4 were done at 4 week intervals back in 2004 and 2005. I saw big improvements in the redness of my skin. Immediately my skin was smoother after just the first session. Some small brown patches dissapeared within 4 days of the first treatment. No real redness relief after the first treatment. My nose improved tremendously after the first treatment. All the broken capilaries just dissapeared. I began this procedure because I have 2 port wine birthmarks on my forehead. I have always had to wear coverup. And being a 'dude' I don't like doing this at all, but if I don't everyone always asks, "Hey what happened to your forehead?" After 4 treatments I noticed that the port wine stains dimminished about 40%, but not enough to eliminate the need for cover up. However the rest of my face look much improved. Unfortunately I did not keep on a schedule with these treatments and after a year my face went back to the redness I was used to. Now in Feb 07 I have recently I began going again. I am planning on going through maybe as many as 6 treatments. Good news is the price has come down quite a bit since I last went. Before Dr. Bitter was billing out at $550 a session and they were charging I think $70 for the small thing of lidocane. Now I have decided to see one of Dr. Bitter's assistants who only charges $350 per session and the lidocane is now included in the $350 charge. Much better deal. Dr. Bitters prices have come down to $450 per session now. I reccomend this procedure but keep in mind you are going to have to keep it up. I did not and the poor appearance of my skin came back. Just a sign of aging I guess. I think if you could go twice a year and get this done your skin would keep looking great. On whole, I reccomend this but go to the cheaper assistants, they are just as good as Dr. Bitter himself. I have been to both and will continue to go to the assistants, especially Camille who is great.
