Prior to this I had had no skin problems and had a pretty nice complexion other than the odd period spot here and there. The flushing was mainly food and stress induced and became quite severe over the following few months. I tried all kinds of treatments from chinese herbal medicine to every known rosacea cream and gel there is. None helped I have to say. My doctor gave me metrogel and was very dismissive. I was told to adjust and learn to live with it - cheers mate! I found Dr Patterson on this site and spent a long time reading both good and bad reviews of all treatments available. I started with Laser treatment in February 07 and to date I have had 4 treatments. I also use the Agera products stocked at the clinic. On the whole the improvements have been well worth the money. I do still flush on occasions and my skin quality isn't perfect - but compared to 3 months ago you wouldn't recognise me! My confidence is back up again and I can go out for meals and have a life again. Does it hurt? Yes I find it painful but only during the treatment which lasts about 15 mins - The redness goes after a day or so and the mild swelling last only a day or 2 longer than that. Dr Patterson doesn't promise you a cure - he uses his skill and experience to reduce the symptoms and effects of this irritating and upsetting condition. in my book he is genuine and the treatments and products he uses are an accumulation of his 10 or more years helping people such as myself.
