Rosacea / flushing / facial redness treatment report from: Miss Morgan Would they recommend this: Yes TreatmentType: Photoderm, view reports of all Photoderm treatments Details: since a child, i have always had very blushed skin. However, when i was 14, this became progressively worse- and the blushing would not go away. After a year of visiting doctors, developing anxiety disorders and panic attacks, i was allowed a referal to a dermatologist at the hospital- DR Gonzales. She took note of my symptoms- what triggered it and my feelings. I was diagnosed with rosacea, and then began treatment. Cool gel was applied to my whole face (the area that needed treatment) and a light was set to my skin. It beeps and flashes- causing a slight stinging pain (which is barable i assure you). this is then continued on all parts of the treated area. afterwards, my skin became very red, and this lasted for about 4 days. Treatment is every 3-4 weeks. after each treatment the time for how long it stayed red decreased dramatically- down to an hour in my fourth. The light pulse in increased to a different frequency because the capilaries shrink more- needing a higher pulse. My skin has improved since before the treatment- i am more confident and take part in mroe activities. However, i must add that after each treatment, skin is very sensitive for about a month- leading to an increased chance of redness occuring for no reason. (i found that my triggers such as heat and spicy food still caused this) and a warm tingling sensation followed. But now that it's been almost two months since my last treatment, my skin is much better! i now have to go for a 6 month checkup to track progress and to ensure that the treatment has been successful.
