Rosacea / flushing / facial redness treatment report from: John

Details: During my 20's I always had red and flushing skin, however, this was moderate and I simply accepted that I had red checks. 1 year on holiday I get badly burnt on my face, afterwhich my skin appeared to heal after a few weeks, however during the following months the redness worsened. After a few months of trying various creams out there, I decided to get IPL treatment from Woodford. After 6 treatments my skin has improved, I get less breakouts, however, I cannot excerise as I would like, as I find increasing my heart rate and thus body temperature irrates my skin. Saying this I beleive IPL the best treatment out there. I plan to return every 4/5 months, so to ensure that the severity of the breakouts does not increase. I just want to say that if you plan to get IPL, for most it will help, but as far as I can tell there is no cure, you will probably need to continually return. 1 drawback of Woodford is the cost, eventhough Dr. Chamberlin is excellent, and if you are going to get treatment for the first time, to use Woodford. However, I have since used a Dermatologist who uses IPL, for half the cost. After a few sessions you wil know what works best for your skin, and the strenghts of laser you should use - so I would advise to shop around, but be careful, as there are many clinics who use unqualified "nurses" who don't really know what they are doing. Just as important is how you treat your skin now, I would advise to avoid all triggers (in reason) and to always use sun block (and avoid direct sun light on your face - v important - wear a hat!). Anyway enough from me - good luck with your treatments!!
