Rosacea / flushing / facial redness treatment report from: Konrad

Would they recommend this: Yes

TreatmentType: Fotofacial, view reports of all Fotofacial treatments

Details: I underwent three treatments with the Aurora ELOS, each one month apart. I only had my nose and cheeks done. Before going into treatment I had tiny spider vessels on the bridge of my nose, diffuse redness, and a moderate flushing problem. Even though the nurse cranked up the settings each time, I did not suffer any side effects aside from a red, blotchy complexion which faded to normal after several hours. The month after my first treatment was a bit distressing for me. The only result I noticed was about 75% improvement on the spider vessels on my nose. This was nice but I really wanted to improve the redness and flushing which were my main concerns. After my second and third treatments my flushing and redness improved dramatically. I did not suffer any more long, deep, hot flushes like I did before. I still flush, so I can't rate this procedure as a cure, but I now only get what I call "mini-flushes" where my skin goes light red and warm for about 15 seconds, then back to normal immediately after. This is an amazing improvement for me. Rosacea no longer bothers me on a daily basis. I don't think about it when I wake up, when I go out, when I talk to people or any other time I'd rather my mind be on other things. I enjoy university and work again, even though just a few months ago I wanted to quit both. I definetly consider that I have "beaten" rosacea even though I haven't completely eliminated it. The one huge downside to IPL is that it is expensive, and there is no guarentee of improvement. I saved for my treatments on a minimum wage so I can definetly appreciate this. But in saying that, if there is some way you can scrape together the money, I definetly, definetly reccommend giving IPL a go. Be patient and stick to it even if you don't get results right away. It doesn't work for everybody but if you don't try it you'll never know if it could've worked for you.
